Based out of Atlanta, Georgia, The Ides of June brings a refreshing new approach to the Southern Rock genre. Pulling influences from the likes of The Allman Brothers Band and The Black Keys, their sound is the product of a diverse background of influences from each member. While Kristin Tinsley’s range of musical taste is extensive, a seminal moment occurred when she first watched and listened to Fleetwood Mac’s “The Dance.” Stevie Nicks distinctive voice resonated and called out to her. And, she took to heart the advice Tom Petty gave to Stevie when she was recording “Trouble in Shangri-La,” which became the lyrics to her song “That Made Me Stronger,” “…Will you write this for me He says no, you write your songs yourself That made me stronger It made me hold on to me…,” That strength lead Kristin to know she has the voice and talent to lead a Stevie Nicks tribute band, Stand Back in recognition to her all-time favorite musician.
